Want to learn shortcuts, tools, and tricks for working more effectively on-screen? Want to streamline your editorial process? Whether you work on staff or as a freelancer, this basic-level workshop—held in a PC computer lab—will show you how to make electronic editing faster, more accurate, and even more fun.

You won’t believe how much more your computer can do for you when you follow the step-by-step approach presented in this workshop. Gain hands-on experience in customizing global searches, toolbars, and keyboard shortcuts for the tasks you perform most often. Learn how to track changes, make queries, and add comments—all electronically. In-class exercises will reinforce your new skills, and you’ll take home a detailed handbook of electronic editing techniques.

Continental breakfast, a buffet lunch, and an afternoon snack are included. The lunch break will allow time to practice new skills and to visit with fellow students and the instructor.

Note: The workshop will be presented using Microsoft Word 2003. Tools and techniques also apply to Word 2007, and most can be adapted for use with other PC and Mac versions of Word.

Prerequisite: Basic editorial skills and familiarity with a word-processing program.
