More and more publishers are asking proofreaders to do their work digitally, which often means marking up PDF documents. This workshop takes participants through various ways of making corrections with editing and drawing tools. Step-by-step instructions will be provided for Acrobat, but other editors will be looked at as well.
Note: Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop with Adobe Acrobat or another PDF editor installed. (Free trial versions usually expire within thirty days, so they should be downloaded after mid-February.) Those who cannot bring laptops will learn from demonstrations and handouts.
Karen Seriguchi is a longtime editor and proofreader. Her current clients include Berrett-Koehler, Cisco, Peachpit Press, Salon.com, Weldon Owen, Yahoo!, and Yoga Journal. She frequently uses one method in particular that overcomes an art department’s hesitation to accept marked-up PDFs.
The instructors were approachable, engaging, and very knowledgeable about the subjects![]()
